Question 1

What is Intellura?

Accepted Answer

Intellura is the system of record for what you know. You name a subject, it builds a course, and every question you answer is logged — so the record reflects what you have actually retrieved, not what you have read or watched.

Question 2

What can I learn on Intellura?

Accepted Answer

Anything you can name — how airplanes stay up, the French Revolution, kidney function, options pricing. Prebuilt courses for AP exams, SAT, ACT, IB, A-Levels and WASSCE are also there, and you can build a course from your own notes or slides.

Question 3

How does the mastery record work?

Accepted Answer

Every topic sits in one of three states: unproven, fragile, or solid. You move between them by retrieving the material correctly under your own steam, several times, with confidence recorded each time. Nothing is marked known because you looked at it.

Question 4

How does spaced repetition work in Intellura?

Accepted Answer

Once a topic reaches solid, Intellura schedules a re-check. The interval starts at 2 days and doubles after each successful re-check, up to 14 days, so the record stays honest about what has faded.

Question 5

Can I study with friends on Intellura?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Study groups let you work alongside classmates in real time, and the sports trivia surface is open to everyone without an account.

Question 6

Is Intellura free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Intellura has no payment system, subscription, or paywall — explanations, questions, and mastery tracking are all free. Intellura is a nonprofit.

Question 7

Do I need an account to use Intellura?

Accepted Answer

No. You can name any subject and answer a real question about it before creating an account. An account is only needed once you want your mastery record saved and tracked across sessions.

Question 8

How is Intellura different from flashcards?

Accepted Answer

Flashcards are self-graded and only track what you've reviewed. Intellura generates its own questions, grades your answers, and moves each topic through mastery tiers — unproven, fragile, or solid — based on repeated correct retrieval, not on whether you looked at a card.

Question 9

What question formats does Intellura use?

Accepted Answer

Multiple choice, short answer, free response, explain, find-the-error, concept-map, and application questions, chosen based on your current mastery level for that topic.

Question 10

Does Intellura check that its questions are correct?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every generated multiple-choice question is checked by a second model that answers with the correct option hidden; if that model disagrees with the stored answer key, the question is rejected and regenerated instead of being shown to you.

Question 11

Does Intellura use FSRS spaced repetition?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once a topic is mastered, its review timing is scheduled by FSRS (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler), the same open-source algorithm used by Anki, run server-side as part of Intellura's mastery tracking.
